Pennsylvania Governor Backs Court Decision to Disallow Faulty Mail-In Ballots

Governor is supporting the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's ruling that mail-in ballots missing dates or signatures cannot be counted. This decision reinforces earlier court rulings and orders counties, including Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia, to comply.

The ruling follows contentious recount efforts in the narrow Senate race where Republican David McCormick edged out Democrat Bob Casey. Despite initial resistance from Democratic-led election boards, Shapiro emphasized the importance of upholding electoral laws to protect democracy.

Republicans, however, criticized Shapiro for delayed support of the ruling.
