Trump to Deploy All Resources to Expel Millions of Immigrants

According to close advisers, Donald Trump plans to use every government resource at his disposal to fulfill his commitment to deport millions of undocumented immigrants. Referring to immigration as an “invasion,” Trump has pledged extensive action to remove those who entered the U.S. illegally.

In an August interview with ABC, Trump’s running mate J.D. Vance suggested starting with the deportation of one million individuals as an initial step. This approach, Vance stated, is where the current administration fell short. Trump’s plan is massive and far-reaching, aimed at creating what he calls the “largest deportation program in U.S. history.” This includes the possibility of using the National Guard and local law enforcement to carry out his policies.

A survey conducted by polling agency Edison Research on Election Day showed mixed views among voters: 39% support immediate deportations, while 56% favor a path toward legal status. Despite this, Trump’s policy outline includes a range of restrictive measures. He aims to end birthright citizenship, a move that would likely require a constitutional amendment. Additionally, he proposes a “Remain in Mexico” policy to curb border crossings, relying on public health grounds as a rationale to turn away immigrants. There are also plans to limit entry from certain Muslim-majority countries, which would be part of a broader push for “ideological screening” of immigrants.

Trump’s immigration strategy is ambitious and will almost certainly face significant legal and political challenges. Yet, his administration appears ready to prioritize these measures as they prepare for the new term.
